I just want to be successful....like you, him, her and everybody else.
Everyone wants fame, success, and all of the riches in the world. I want the world and everything in it, like Tony Montana. Life is way too short to procrastinate so it's a definite that we must chase our dreams, no matter what. You never know who you will meet or what information you'll obtain during your journey. I know I sound crazy but I want to become a Music Icon, that's it. There's no other job that I can see myself doing, literally. All I want to do is live in the studio, perform at award shows and venues, and make music for a living for all to hear. However, I'm not able to major in Hip-Hop at Kean University so I keep dreaming big....too big at times. Why not though?....Life is what you make it. It's not all about what you know, it's about who you know. Like Henry David Thoreau said, “If one advances confidently in the direction of one's dreams, and endeavors to live the life which one has imagined, one will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.”
Too cool for school ? Not at all...
As a young teenager, caught up in materialism, pretty girls, and temptation, I hated school with a passion. I was always in the principal's office, horse playing in the halls with my friends, breaking rules, cutting class and always on the verge of getting caught by that one girl's dad who wasn't supposed to be home from work for another hour....Ohh goshhh, those were indeed the days. I remember when I needed a recommendation from my principle to submit to Kean, in order to get accepted. He never gave me one because i supposedly had "3 strikes" and was a local delinquent in his eyes. I mean I don't blame him now that i look back...lol..if I got a dollar for every time that I was in the principals office, I would've been able to pay my own room and board...along with tuition. I was always under the impression that I was "too cool for school"
I never really took school serious until I got to college. When I was in junior high and high school, I always thought that I was too cool for school. Being in a college atmosphere helped me to realize the benefits of actually "being in school", especially at a university which is widely recognized for its diversity and world-class education. Now that I think about it, I felt that I was being very ignorant as a youth when it came to school. All i cared about was girls, partying, chilling with my friends, money, leisure activities, and girls. :D However now, I incorporate all of it into my college schedule. College has helped me to notice how much freedom you have when you enter the real world. The real world is awesome but it forces you to grow up, which is fine. I've matured a lot since my senior year in high school, in which I was the most "careless". I'm glad that my mother made me open my eyes and realize that without a college education in today's society, you're less likely to prosper. I made sure that the ignorant attitude that I used to posses was dead. I began to abide by an equation in which i calculated by myself. Since Ignorance means lack of knowledge, then it means lack of power. Knowledge is power and without higher education, you're weak and malnourished. Food for the brain is always good and substantial amounts of knowledge taste good when you have it at the tip of your tongue. Therefore, I'll never be too cool for school, especially college, simply because achieving in school distinguishes who's "cool" and who's a "fool". This is just a buffet full of food for thought.....there's no need to be on a diet.
